Car Loan News / Tesla recalls more than 400 Roadsters
Tesla Motors recently announced a recall on its Roadster vehicle for the second time since the car went into production in 2008.
According to the automaker, a cable that is located behind the front headlamps and connected to the lights, airbags and turn signals is believed to have caused at least one small car fire. While the incident reportedly did not lead to any major injuries, Tesla has decided to install a new protective sleeve around the cable, rather than risk more serious fires in the future.
A total of 439 Roadsters are affected by the recall, including vehicles that were sold under the 2.0 and 2.5 model names. Tesla has said that it will contact owners individually to inform them of the problem and will send repair teams to make the adjustment at the customers' homes or places of work.
Tesla previously issued a recall for all existing Roadsters last May over concerns that bolts in the steering system could cause drivers to lose control of the car.
