Car Finance / Honda CR-Z displaces Toyota Camry Hybrid on EPA”s top 10 list
While the Toyota Prius remains at the top of the EPA's 2011 list of the most fuel-efficient cars in the U.S., the new Honda CR-Z has entered into the mix, sending the Camry Hybrid out of the top 10.
The 2011 Honda Civic Hybrid and the Honda Insight are now tied for third place, as the Civic lost two miles per gallon in the EPA rating this year. The Nissan Altima Hybrid also fell from sixth to eight place after it lost two mpg on its rating for city mileage.
As the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf electric vehicles are scheduled to hit the market in the coming months, the EPA continues to work on specific testing criteria for all electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
According to USA Today, the Leaf and Volt could climb near the top of the rankings once the EPA determines the appropriate criteria.
